“Journeying to Easter, Week Two: The Promise and the Pain”

Luke 13:31-35                                                                          Preached by Dr. Phillip Moschenrose;

Week 2 was preached by guest pastor, Dr. Phillip Moschenrose.

Phillip has a different approach to preaching and doesn't use a "script".. He takes notes and lets his words fly..

Although his sermons are always wonderful and enlightening, this web "author" cannot begin to attempt transferring to written text.. (My apologies).

Phillip discussed how Jesus was not deterred by threats or His impending death. He was doing the Lord's work and would not be distracted. The Lord will lead him to his destination in due time.

(Accompanying song for this sermon: "Come, All Christians, Be Committed" was not available on Youtube either. BUT.. Please enjoy the song "Lead Me, Guide Me" presented by the one and only Elvis Presley. Keep in mind that the Lord has a purpose for you and will lead you where you need to be. Open your heart to his calling and ask Him to lead you, guide you along the way..)

IN GOD’S STRATEGY FOR SUCCESSFUL LIVING,

CHARACTER IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN INTELLIGENCE.

Please read from the book of Luke: Chapter 13, verses 31-35 .

The Lament over Jerusalem

31 At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, "Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you." 32 He said to them, "Go and tell that fox for me, 'Listen, I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish my work. 33 Yet today, tomorrow, and the next day I must be on my way, because it is impossible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem.' 34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! 35 See, your house is left to you. And I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, 'Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.'

Service ended with the Hymn of Commitment: "Jesus Walked That Lonesome Valley"

This is another rendition presented by "Mississippi John Hurt" in a "folk music" style, which was retitled, "You Gotta Walk That Lonesome Valley:

It is such a joy to see Our Lord worshiped and praised in so many varied styles!.. Enjoy >>>
