EXCITING TIMES!! This past fall Wellspring began working with children at Gill Elementary School.  We help to meet the emotional, social and academic needs of at-risk children by giving them a one -to-one, "Jesus-with-skin-on" relationship with a mentor who meets with one child for one hour per week throughout the school year.

WHY: Many children in our community are at-risk.  At-risk of failing at school, at-risk of acting out inappropriately, at-risk of not reaching their full potential. We focus on elementary aged children because they are at that critical time when values are formed, self-esteem is developed and academic skills must be acquired. 

HOW: Wellspring and Gill Elementary are using the resources provided by KIDS HOPE USA INC to provide excellent mentoring services  to young children in our community.  KIDS HOPE USA's success rate is very high - 93% of mentored children significantly improve academically in school.  

OTHER RESOURCE: Prayer is the foundation for our mentoring work.  Each adult-child relationship is wrapped in prayer by a behind-the-scenes prayer partner from our church.
